Welcome to Inspirations

This section is, of course, devoted to Inspiration.  It is an ever expanding collection of quotations that I've pulled together.  There is a personal bias to this collection.  They relate to who we are as human beings and our quest for intimacy.  After all, that's what Coconut Sundae Afternoons is all about.

Please peruse at your leisure.  Any of them can be easily downloaded to your computer, pad, or smart phone.

As I've been collecting them I watched and felt them make a welcomed difference to things that I'd been struggling with.

What has always looked like "struggles" to me have become opportunities for altering who I am being in the world, and this alters my world view.  Which is the journey I've been on these last 30 years.

Use them as you will.  Some may jump out for you.  Most likely these will be related to "struggles" that you are being run by.  When we hear the voice of someone else that serves us better than the voices that have been running our lives, we then have a choice.  We can begin to favor the new voices that we hear or stick with the old familiar ones.  The choice is, as always, up to us.

If our path is an ongoing journey, then every step along the way we have choices to make.  Like driving from L.A. to New York City, certain choice will move us along our path and some will have us driving in old, very familiar circles.

The most powerful thing I've learned in life is that I always have choice, and it's up to me to become aware of choices and make the one that seems to serve me the best.  Perhaps it may turn out that choice wasn't the best.  Good, then I get to make another choice.

Mastery is delicious journey, not a destination.  Pain, joy, exhilaration, hurt and all the rest of the feelings and emotions are the guideposts of the journey.  Of course one could always choose to curl up under the guidepost  and fret and moan.  Or not.  It's always a choice.

Blessings on our journeys.

I've heard Inspiration defined as "Being filled with the breath of God."  That's what it feels like to me when I'm truly inspired.  You may want to replace "God" with  "Spirit" or "The Wisdom of the Universe" or whatever it may be that allows you to hear it better.

Below is the Merriam-Webster dictionary's take on Inspiration.

1a : a divine influence or action on a person believed to qualify him or her
to receive and communicate sacred revelation
b : the action or power of moving the intellect or emotions
c : the act of influencing or suggesting opinions

2: the act of drawing in; specifically : the drawing of air into the lungs

3a : the quality or state of being inspired.
b : something that is inspired <a scheme that was pure inspiration>

4: an inspiring agent or influence

Whatever definition works for any particular instance, the essence of Inspiration to me it that it helps me to get a better, more supportive grasp on this wild and crazy thing we call life.

On the left navigation bar are links to pages of Inspirational "posters".

Enjoy.  Perhaps there are some new choices (and voices) available on these pages.
